Full time is 12 or more credits per semester (about four classes). Part time is anything less than that, usually one or two classes per semester.

I am going to a college through their online program. We have assigned groups. These people are not very timely with their work. They flake out and don’t show up when they should. I don’t walk around with a laptop or computer strapped to my arm every second of the day. It is annoying to me that know one sets a “set” time for online group work. I tried to do this for the group. Took everyone feedback,etc. Know one shows up when they should! Now these are adults – work full time/part time, have children, etc. I have 2 jobs have a 2 yr old and still have ability to know what days I am avail. Am I asking for too much? They get bent out of shape at me when I make set times. I am paying too much $ $ to f – around for this degree! UGH What to do? Just quit school? I have mentioned to instructor – but she can’t make them do something!

Yeah, you can get the same trouble with a face-to-face course, too…some will always slag off, “forget” or just not pull their weight.
Very many courses do this, and it is not fair on the ones who do take it seriously. They end up working harder, and the slackers get equal credit for the work (and equal marks….heaven help their future employers).
Don’t you organise the time. Tell them what time YOU are available, let them choose to take part or not.
Do your part of the work, and whatever part of theirs is necessary for your part to make sense. Hand in assignments as far as you can get with them. Do not cover for them; just do what you can, and if it becomes clear to the college they are not doing their share, they may be failed, or you may be given a better group to work with.
The instructor can’t force them to do it, either, but will give you a lot of credit if she knows you are doing most of the group’s work on your own.
