SEC–Mandated XBRL Data at Risk of Being Irrelevant to Investors and Analysts
NEW YORK — January 22, 2013 — In 2009, the Securities and Exchange Commission mandated that public companies submit portions of annual (10–K) and quarterly (10–Q) reports—in a digitized format known as eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL). The goal of this type of data was to provide more relevant, timely, and reliable “interactive” data to investors and analysts. The XBRL–formatted data is meant to allow users to manipulate and organize the financial information according to their own purposes faster, cheaper, and more easily than current alternatives

When Talk Is Free: The Effects of Pricing Plans on Consumer Demand
NEW YORK — February 6, 2013 — From banks to telecom providers, various industries are moving to pricing plans that offer a certain amount of “free” service. Bank customers are allowed a certain number of free ATM withdrawals each month, and cell phone users receive free minutes. These three–part plans — which also include a regular (usually monthly) access fee as well as a usage fee if the customer exceeds the free allotment — are replacing older two–part plans that charged an access fee and a usage price for every unit of consumption.

Knowing The New Era Of Study– Online Distance Learning
Technology has changed the face of distance learning. From the mailbox to the internet, distance learning has gone through transformations that have made it what it is today. The print aspect of distance learning is still ever present because of the need to ensure that the student can read and write.
The instructors are a vital component of a distance learning program because they are the primary source of the knowledge you will be receiving. You must research the instructors of a particular distance learning program before you enroll. Ensure that each instructor has qualifications that are valid before you make a commitment to become their student.
Distance education is specially designed for those who find it difficult or impossible to physically be in college. They can go online to apply for courses of their choice in the very schools that they want to attend. Then they can sit back and enjoy correspondence via various media from the comfort of their living rooms.
If you are the shy type, you might not want to school amongst a host of other people. There may have been a time when you would not have had a choice, but distance learning these days has grown into a practice that is open to anyone at all who is interested. This is as opposed to back in the day when only the underprivileged were considered for the program.
Spam and other kinds of junk always find their way into your email. If you did not delete them so readily, you would find that many of them provide information on how to get the diploma/degree of your dreams. You need to be very conscious that these are phantom offers and your distance learning dreams will not be fulfilled that way.
A common practice is to have students meet at a variety of designated places for their tests and exams, as in school. The difference with distance learning is that the person who invigilates may not be a lecturer at, just a paid, trusted representative of the school or professor. This way at least, you can be sure that not everyone is cheating.
Distance learning is devoid of the classroom setting. You can partake of a distance learning program in your home or during your lunch break. Distance learning is not determined by your position on the global map.
When looking for an online MBA, try and determine the ones that are accredited and the ones that are not. Online MBAs come with financial aid for those who are financially handicapped. In essence, financial bodies can make your dream of getting an online MBA a reality.
