Is National University a good school for my MBA? (Link provided)?

Question by ♡ ツ ♡: Is National University a good school for my MBA? (Link provided)?
I really need help. I want to get an MBA. Already have a degree in business. But my GPA is not so good and I don’t want to take the GMAT. So I looked up this school below. Can anybody let me know if it’s good?

http://www.nu.edu/

Otherwise I was looking into some other programs. My friend told me about a good school in Florida that does not require the GMAT either. Entrepreneur School of Nova or something.

Best answer:

Answer by lildude211us
NO WAY. Any school that doesnt requre a GMAT score is never good (not even mediocre) Even those public state schools are better.

If you dont want to take the GMAT, dont get an MBA. Its just going to waste your money, especially when you go to a school that doesnt require a GMAT (that usually means that the school isnt accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) Those unaccredited schools are essentially worthless. Besides, there are numerous MBA grads that have graduated from accredited universities, so there are a lot of available people with accredited degrees to choose from. You will be at a severe disadvantage with an worthless MBA degree and be at the very bottom of the pack. Employers might not even value it.

How important is accreditation for a MBA?

Question by ObLiVioN-FAlLs: How important is accreditation for a MBA?
I am looking between two programs; The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredits one, while International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) accredits the second. I know the AACSB is more coveted within the business community, but is a degree from an institution accredited by IACBE worthwhile? Do the different levels of accreditation really matter? Or is it merely important to get a degree from an accredited university? The AACSB degree will be much harder to attain (fitting into my schedule), is it worth completely going out of your way to get the higher accreditation?

Best answer:

Answer by neniaf
The IACBE is not even the secondary accrediting organization in business; most schools that are looking for credibility but aren’t eligible for AACSB go for the ACBSP. While the accreditation itself may not matter too much, this indicates a serious difference in the quality of the two schools, and that could hurt you down the road.

Q&A: Is MBA degree from Golden Gate University better than Keller Graduate School?

Question by bui296: Is MBA degree from Golden Gate University better than Keller Graduate School?

Best answer:

Answer by Patti C
KELLER GRADUATE SCHOOL (DEVRY) IS NOT ACCREDITED BY THE AACSB. GOLDEN GATE UNIVERSITY IS NOT ACCREDITED BY THE AACSB.

Don’t waste your money on unaccredited degrees. There are a host of accredited degrees that will be worth the paper they are printed on. Some of them may even be offered online at instate rates. If your program is not accredited by the Association to Advance of Collegiate Schools of Business, then you will are not paying for a respected MBA. With MBAs, image is EVERYTHING.

(If you are going to spend the time and money for an MBA, then it better have the accreditation that employers are looking for, namely the AACSB. There are many 2nd and 3rd tier colleges that are accredited by them, and a number of online degrees. What would you be sacrificing by NOT looking for this high level of accreditation?)

Does AACSB accreditation matter in a Business Administration program?

Question by lightpost08: Does AACSB accreditation matter in a Business Administration program?
I am interested in a Business Administration program at a college, but I was wondering does it matter that the Business program is SACS(Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) accredited, but not AACSB(Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited? The school’s website is http://www.bauder.edu

Best answer:

Answer by CoachT
Most biz schools are not AACSB accredited. It matters more for grad schools than for undergrad. It also matters more if you plan to go to a grad school that is AACSB accredited.

Most important, it’s a sign that the school has adopted a certain set of high standards. An unaccredited program may be just as good or better but the AACSB accreditation is verification that the minimum standards have been met.

If you want to teach at an AACSB school, you’ll almost certainly need an AACSB degree.

Going for my master’s degree with an emphasis in marketing. Is being regionally accredited better or the same?

Question by ♫♣♪♥☺Krissie♫♣♪♥☺: Going for my master’s degree with an emphasis in marketing. Is being regionally accredited better or the same?
is being regionally accredited the same or better as being AACSB (the association to advance collegiate schools of business) accredited?

Does anyone know of a good online school to get an mba/marketing in?

thanks =)

Best answer:

Answer by mjj092000
Being regionally accredited is a basic requirement. AACSB is far better than just being accredited. Some would call it the gold standard of business schools.

Look for a school that is AACSB accredited or in the process of AACSB accreditation.

Post-Graduate Schools of Business?

Question by Jovan J: Post-Graduate Schools of Business?
I’m a freshman in college and my major is business.

I am an international student and I am getting really nice grades so far. My wish is to keep up with the good grades and after I graduate, I wish to go on with MBA or higher if possible. It is because I am not happy with the name of my college, I know it has a lot to do and I think that today you need a lot of education if you want to earn a lot of money (but it is prerequisite for everyone, I just wish to go this way).

I wish to find some sources where I can get better insight in post-graduate programs (in USA) for business. I am interested in top schools. Where can I find things like required GPA, price and ranking. I assume that most of you guys will recommend me US news, but I could see only top 5 schools. Do I need to buy US news account to explore more, or there is better way and what are the other options?

I would really appreciate your assistance, THANKS

Best answer:

Answer by Ranto
Businessweek and US News both rank MBA programs on their web sites. The links are below.

You should understand that the top business schools want you to have three to five years of work experience before you get your MBA.

Any online PhD in Economics or Business?

Question by Unión Latina: Any online PhD in Economics or Business?
I’m from a small country in South America (Ecuador) and I can’t travel to the US or to Europe to get a PhD degree. I already have an MBA degree by a University in Mexico, but is not enough for me. Please, I would appreciate it if someone can help me with information about a respected PhD of DBA program in the US or Europe.

Best answer:

Answer by neniaf
AACSB, which is the Association to Advance Colleges and Schools of Business (one of the premier international accreditors of business schools) has a website for potential students to help you make those decisions. It is www.bestbizschools.com, and when you put in what kind of degree you want and where you want to get it, it will tell you what exists. I know there are one or two online programs in the UK which are considered reasonably good; the ones in the U.S. so far are either executive doctorates (which prepare you for consulting, rather than academic jobs) or they are for-profit schools, which have pretty poor-quality programs.
