Author of Success Book Finds Patterns Among Stories

Upland, CA (PRWEB) October 26, 2004

A new book about success is making waves. Not because of one manÂ’s grand new idea of success, but because of the proof of it he has found by farming from many stories and looking for trends.

In his latest book, Masters of Success(Entrepreneur Press, 2004), Dr. Ivan Misner brings together a “dream team” of the successful to talk in forum about their various ideas of success. What he finds are recurring, and to him, undeniable themes

“In most success stories,” Misner says, “persistence is a major theme. Dogged determination is the cornerstone of many successes. Likewise, when we study the lives of successful people, we find that typically, they are goal setters. They understand what they accomplish is within their control if they focus on the goal.”

Masters of Success is a unique book in a field dominated by singular voices on the subject of success. According to Misner, if you look long and hard enough at what a lot of successful people have done, and what their version of success looks like, you can get a good idea of some common characteristics. Misner, in this new best-seller, has identified seven such traits common to the successful, and he illustrates his points with dozens of stories demonstrating each.

Ivan Misner, Ph.D. is founder & CEO of BNI (Business Network Int’l), a referral networking organization with Chapters in 19 countries around the world. He is also the author of several books including the NY Times best-seller, “Masters of Networking,” and the recently released #1 best-seller, “Masters of Success.”

Success “Dream Team” Shows the Way with a Multiplicity of Stories

Upland, CA (PRWEB) October 4, 2004

Ivan Misner is uniquely qualified to write a book about success. Not because of his own, considerable amount of the stuff, but because he probably knows more successful people than just about anyone alive.

In a new book, “Masters of Success” (Entrepreneur Press, 2004), Ivan Misner, PH.D., assembles a dream team of authors, athletes and businesspeople, all with their own take on success. There is perhaps, no one else who could have made this literal anthology of success stories.

While many a business or motivational book may claim dozens of celebrity authors, Dr. MisnerÂ’s latest effort astounds with the sheer number of contributions.

“Masters of Success has well over sixty differing points of view,” Misner says, “which really works give someone a global view on the subject.”

Ivan Misner, Ph.D. is the Founder & CEO of BNI (Business Network Int’l), a referral networking organization with Chapters in 18 countries around the world. Human Networking Even More Important in Digital World

Human Networking Even More Important in Digital World

Upland, CA (PRWEB) September 6, 2004

People are cocooning in their homes. TheyÂ’re hiding behind their computers. TheyÂ’re teleconferencing. In a digital world where people are distancing themselves from one another, the opportunity for those creating networks of real human beings are greater than ever.

According to Ivan Misner, Ph.D., a networking expert and Founder of BNI (Business Network Int’l), “referral business is still the most powerful way to gain new business and create success. In an increasingly digital world, personal networks are even more important.”

“Our modern world is a double-edged sword,” Misner says, “while it is certainly easier to create and nurture a wider network today than in the past, the depth on of those relationships can be questionable. “Networking is more about farming than it is about hunting,” says Misner. It is about cultivating relationships with quality people. “The best way to do this is to help other people in their business. In BNI, we call this ‘givers gain’. If you want to get referrals, you have to be willing to give referrals to people.”

I can’t overemphasize the importance of the human component of business, especially as we come to rely so heavily on technology.”

Are You a ‘Gate Keeper’ for Business Leads?

xml:lang=”en” lang=”en” xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>

Are You a ‘Gate Keeper’ for Business Leads?

Upland, CA (PRWEB) July 19, 2006

You could be one simple letter away from receiving a lot of new business. In his recent monthly column for Entrepreneur.com (the online home of Entrepreneur Magazine), Dr. Ivan Misner explains the power of one easy technique for attracting business leads.

Misner is Founder and Chairman of BNI, an international referral networking organization that helps businesses and professionals cultivate success through word-of-mouth marketing. He also pens Entrepreneur.com’s monthly “networking” column.

Knowing the business-building potential of effective networking, Misner early-on decided to position himself as a “Go-To Guy” for business people in his own community seeking referrals to trusted professionals. By becoming a gate keeper for such referrals, he reasoned, he would be in a position to help a lot of people–while also raising his own business profile.

And was he ever right! The key? A simple letter he sent to his client list several times a year. Read the whole story online at: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/0,4621,327036,00.html.

Turning Business Contacts into Valuable Connections

xml:lang=”en” lang=”en” xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>

Turning Business Contacts into Valuable Connections

Upland, CA (PRWEB) July 12, 2006

How well do you really know the people in your business universe? If your network of associates and contacts is wide, but not especially deep, a recent column by Dr. Ivan Misner for Entrepreneur.com (the online home of Entrepreneur Magazine) can help you more effectively mine the riches in your Rolodex.

Misner is Founder and Chairman of BNI, an international referral networking organization that helps businesses and professionals cultivate success through word-of-mouth marketing. He also pens Entrepreneur.com’s monthly “networking” column.

“Master networkers know that having a good contact doesn’t necessarily make someone a good connection,” counsels Misner. “One of the most important things I’ve learned is that it’s not ‘what you know’, or even ‘who you know’. It’s ‘how well you know them’ that really counts in building a powerful personal network.”

Misner offers three steps toward building valuable connections:

    Build quality relationships.

Think about where you can network to help build deep roots.

Change your focus from “What’s in it for me?” to “What can I offer you?”

BNI Launches Online ‘Networking and the Sexes’ Survey

BNI Launches Online ‘Networking and the Sexes’ Survey

Upland, CA (PRWEB) February 13, 2007

Which of the following is most important to you when referring business to others: Knowing a person’s character? Knowing a person’s level of competency? Knowing a person’s success? Or using their product or service yourself first?

How you answer that question may depend a lot on whether you are male or female. BNI, the world’s largest business networking organization, launched an innovative online survey to reveal how men and women approach business networking.

“This survey will help us determine how each gender tends to approach networking, and that will help us provide networkers worldwide with techniques and insights that help their effectiveness,” explains Dr. Ivan Misner, Founder & Chairman of BNI. “We’re still accepting survey responses, and plan to begin analyzing the data in early 2007. I believe the results will be eye-opening.”

Is the Road to Success Endless?

Is the Road to Success Endless?

Upland, CA (PRWEB) October 19, 2004 -

– How does an expert on success come to the odd conclusion that the thing he’s studying doesn’t exactly exist? By listening very closely to what over sixty different successes have to say about the subject.

In his new book, Masters of Success (Entrepreneur Press, 2004), Dr. Ivan Misner shares his realization of what a multitude of opinions on success can produce. Not until the end of the book, in fact, is the reader really able to empathize with the author. ThatÂ’s when you realize what heÂ’s been trying to explain: nobody has the same idea of success.

“Success is personal,” Misner says, “and to many people, an ever expanding goal. Whatever their objective, the people who contributed to this book have brought their efforts, passion, system, vision, leverage and determination to meet and overcome adversity. They know that success in all things comes from the uncommon application of common knowledge.”

Dr. Misner believes that what writing Masters of Success has taught him is that success is really consistent application of the right thinking. That while the choices may never end, successful people make the right decisions. Misner puts it powerfully: “So in the end success depends on many things, but mostly it depends on you.”

Ivan Misner, Ph.D. is the Founder & CEO of BNI (Business Network Int’l), a referral networking organization with Chapters in 18 countries around the world. He is also the author of several books including the NY Times best-seller, “Masters of Networking” and the recently released #1 best-seller, “Masters of Success.”

Persistence Pays

Persistence Pays

Upland, CA (PRWEB) November 16, 2004

A new book whose goal is to discover what determines success by looking at hundreds of case studies has come up with one answer your elementary school teacher probably told you about: success comes to those who are persistent.

In his latest book, Masters of Success (Entrepreneur Press, 2004), Ivan Misner, PH.D. identifies seven traits and trends common to some of the most successful people in the fields of sports, business and entertainment. While some of the traits identified in the book are surprising, that success is often determined by persistence is not.

In most success stories, persistence is a recurring theme,” says Misner. “People who achieve what they set out to achieve are usually seen to be steadfast in pursuit of their goals, unwilling to let difficulties stand in their way. Dogged determination is the cornerstone of many successes. This is why the harder the people work, the luckier they seem to be.”

According to Dr. Misner, other traits of our most successful are being passionate about what youÂ’re doing, being systematic, and being known as someone willing to help others.

Yet Misner adds a caveat to the rather obvious identification of persistence as a factor in success. “But persistence alone does not guarantee success. The successful pursuit of a goal also requires following a system or a plan. It’s more than just hanging on when everybody else has let go; it’s persistence with a plan.”
