University of Missouri Technology Park at Fort Leonard Wood Expands

ST. LOUIS, MO (PRWEB) May 14, 2005

The University of Missouri Technology Park at Fort Leonard Wood will officially expand with the dedication of a second building on Thursday, May 19, at 4:00 p.m. University of Missouri System President Elson Floyd and Major General Randal Castro, Commanding General of Fort Leonard Wood, will participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

“This new facility will provide additional high-tech office and lab space to serve the rapidly expanding missions of Fort Leonard Wood.” said Rick Finholt, executive director of the University of Missouri Office of Economic Development and Research Parks. Finholt also directs the University of Missouri’s Missouri Research Park located in St. Charles County, Missouri.

“The Fort Leonard Wood park is a boost to the entire region because it encourages technology transfer between the University of Missouri and the U.S. Army and provides job opportunities for students, alumni, local residents and military spouses,” Finholt said. “Long-range plans for the Technology Park at Fort Leonard Wood include additional buildings to provide office space, classrooms and training facilities, and engineering and wet labs.”

The $ 2.2 Million, 18,000-square-foot building will initially house two corporate tenants – 21st Century Systems and Concurrent Technologies Corp. – and three Army facilities – the Terrain Visualization Center, the Topographic Engineering Center and the TRADOC Program Integration Office for Terrain Data. Approximately 4,595 square feet of space is currently available for lease.

The 62-acre Technology Park at Fort Leonard Wood is the first technology park in the nation to be located on an active Army post. The park provides a much-needed on-Post location for businesses that support and enhance the missions, activities and strategic goals of Fort Leonard Wood. Suppliers, contractors and other organizations that work closely with the Army have immediate access to military contacts.

The first building in the technology park is the $ 2 million, 18,000-square-foot MRP Business Center, which opened in late 2002 and is now fully leased. The MRP Business Center is a secure office environment, providing technology-equipped and furnished offices and meeting spaces plus 6,000 square feet of shared space with administrative services. As the park expands, the MRP Business Center will continue to serve as a central resource facility, accessible to all park tenants for meetings, conferences and business-support services.

Tenants of the MRP Business Center include Anteon, Battelle, BHE Environmental, C2 Technologies, Inc., Camber Corporation, CEST, CDM, The Directorate of Environmental Integration, Freedom Healthcare Education, GEC Inc., General Physics, IEM Inc., Lincoln University, Missouri Enterprise, MTS Technologies, NGA, Tec Masters, Titan, Tri-Care Therapy Group, and offices of the University of Missouri – Rolla.

The technology park is a joint venture between the University of Missouri and the Missouri Technology Corporation, a subsidiary of the Department of Economic Development. For more information, visit http://www.mrpbusinesscenter.org or call 573-329-8507.

Fort Lauderdale Working Capital Loans for Small Business Solvency

Fort Lauderdale Working Capital Loans for Small Business Solvency

Are you having cash flow problems in your small business in Fort Lauderdale? Working capital loans can provide the immediate cash ingestion your business needs to stay afloat until your product line hits the stores or your merchants start paying off their credit, but traditional sources of business credit have all but dried up in today’s business world. That’s paved the way for non-traditional funding and business credit sources. If your small business needs ready cash flow, Fort Lauderdale working capital loans companies have a number of non-traditional funding options to help you.

Asset-Based Business Loans

One option for working capital loans Fort Lauderdale businesses can access is asset-based business loans from non-traditional lenders. Business loans of this type are a good option for small businesses that are financially solvent but need an infusion of cash for a capital expansion – purchasing new equipment to keep up with increased orders, for example. These business loans are similar to bank loans, but are advanced by non-traditional lenders who may be willing to take more risks. In some cases, you can apply for a small business loan using personal property or business property as collateral just as you would if you were taking out a secured loan with a bank or other traditional lender. In Fort Lauderdale, working capital loans like this are available through many small, private lenders.

Business Cash Advance

Fort Lauderdale businesses may also take advantage of a business cash advance loan based on expected future earnings. Merchant cash advance programs are available for any business that accepts credit cards as payment for goods and services. Merchant cash advances are revolving credit lines, meaning that the cash advance company determines the amount you may borrow and advances you a line of credit. You can draw on that credit and as you repay it, the credit becomes available again. Since repayment is based on your actual credit card receipts each day, week or month, your payments are always affordable. In most cases, this type of business cash advance requires that you opt in to the lenders credit card processing system. Your payments are subtracted from your incoming receipts at the rate negotiated between you and the lender. These business cash advances are especially attractive to businesses that need immediate capital and can’t wait three or four weeks for a bank decision. Fort Lauderdale merchant cash advance companies may make a decision in as little as three business days.

Accounts Receivables Factoring

For some merchants in Fort Lauderdale, working capital loans are not an option, but accounts receivable factoring may be. Accounts receivable factoring is not a loan and does not need to be repaid. Instead, it allows you to use future incoming invoices today, when you need the cash. Fort Lauderdale companies that offer A/R factoring services evaluate your accounts receivable and offer a flat cash lump sum payment to purchase your invoices. A/R factoring is a -good option for businesses that do business to business sales or services, and have a portfolio of current but outstanding invoices.

If your business is in need of fast cash or a ready line of credit, Fort Lauderdale working capital loans companies are ready to do business with you. All it takes is a telephone call to get your business the up-front cash it needs.

Iowa Central College of Fort Dodge, Iowa has Contracted with Barker Educational Services Team (BEST) of Scottsdale, Arizona

Fort Dodge, IA (PRWEB) May 26, 2006

Iowa Central College of Fort Dodge, Iowa has contracted with Barker Educational Services Team (BEST) of Scottsdale, Arizona to provide enrollment and retention services designed to help increase Iowa Central College’s online enrollments. Initially, the Online Programs that will be available to students worldwide will be high-demand two-year degree programs in Computer Networking, Criminal Justice, and Business Administration.

Dr. Bob Paxton, Iowa Central College’s President, stated, “Over the past two years, many of the for-profit, publicly-traded educational institutions have shifted their focus from Bachelor degree programs to Associate degree programs. Because of this change, non-profit schools have found it difficult to compete for students due to limited budgets. With BEST as a partner, we will be able to focus on delivering high quality online educational degree programs without sacrificing time on enrollment because BEST will be responsible to meet our desired online enrollment growth.”

Heather Cornell, Chief Operating Officer of the Scottsdale based-BEST commented, “We were delighted to be chosen as Iowa Central College’s partner to help them serve the educational needs of their online students.”

Organized in 1966, Iowa Central is a vibrant member of its regional community offering a wide range of academic pursuits leading to an Associate of Arts Degree and subsequent transfer to four-year schools.

Under Dr. Paxton’s leadership, Iowa Central has evolved into one of the nation’s most progressive community colleges, working in partnership with business, industry and community to provide students with a plan for career success. For example, the Criminal Justice curriculum will have courses related to homeland security so a police officer could pursue a career in that field. Iowa Central will be one of the first to provide this online degree program.

Iowa Central Community College is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Interested students should visit the Iowa Central Online website at IOWACENTRALDEGREES.COM.

Barker Educational Services Team (BEST) LLC was recently formed by the former Executive Vice President of the University of Phoenix, Bob Barker and Heather Cornell, former Associate VP at UOP. Barker was also Senior Vice President of Apollo Group, Inc., the holding company for the University of Phoenix. BEST provides Online Enrollment Services for Regionally Accredited colleges and universities.

Q&A: Are there any parts of the Waikiki area that are really unsafe?

Question by xbox360classact: Are there any parts of the Waikiki area that are really unsafe?
I’m moving from NYC to get my MBA at UH, but I want to live as close to the beach as possible and it appears Waikiki is it. Coming from NYC I don’t feel too worried about anywhere in particular, just thought I should get a heads up if any areas are super bad. I’m looking at a place south of the canal, in between diamond head and fort derussey. I’m not concerned with the tourists or crowds because that’s all I’ve lived with for the past 4 years in NY, but want to be walking distance to the beach in a decent area. Thanks for any advice!

Those online universities are very expensive. Many large “real” universities have online programs, I suggest you check into the ones in your state. Their degrees are much more respected and will probably cost you less.

Limagrain Cereal Seeds Hires Research Associates in Fort Collins, CO Division

xml:lang=”en” lang=”en” xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>

Limagrain Cereal Seeds Hires Research Associates in Fort Collins, CO Division

Zach Gaines

Fort Collins, CO (PRWEB) April 21, 2011

Limagrain Cereal Seeds, a subsidiary of the biggest plant breeder and seed company in Europe, announced Hayley Butler and Zach Gaines have been hired as research associates assigned to Limagrain’s North American headquarters in Fort Collins. Butler and Gaines, both Colorado State University alumni, were hired in early 2011. They join Kay Wood, Limagrain’s Executive Assistant, also a CSU graduate and the third the company has hired since arriving in Fort Collins in Fort Collins last year. All work from the Limagrain Cereal Seeds offices at 3515 Richards Lake Road.

“Our decision to select Fort Collins as the location for our North American subsidiary was based in no small part on proximity to Colorado State University,” said Frank Curtis, Limagrain Cereal Seeds executive vice president and chief operations officer. “As CSU graduates, both Hayley and Zach exemplify the kind of talent, experience and initiative we look for in our team members. We are very pleased to have them working for Limagrain.”

Gaines earned his undergraduate degree from CSU, going on to receive a master’s degree in agribusiness from Kansas State University. He worked for Busch Agricultural Resources as a research technician in the malt barley breeding program for five years before taking a role as a production manager at Anheuser-Busch in Los Angeles.

“My role here at Limagrain is very similar to what I did initially with Anheuser-Busch – only I’ll be working with wheat this time instead of barley,” Gaines said. “It’s exciting to work for a company that will be a major player in the U.S. wheat market. With the headquarters located in Fort Collins, we have the opportunity to hopefully hire a lot of local people. I know the first place I’ll look when given the opportunity to bring on employees is to CSU students.”

Butler, who earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees from CSU, will work closely with Gaines on the wheat breeding program until Limagrain’s local quality lab is up and running. A Colorado native with 14 years working in Colorado agriculture, Butler said she is looking forward to overseeing the quality lab, essentially a testing environment that helps researchers evaluate how the various wheat varieties perform in real-world scenarios like mixing and baking.

“It’s essentially my dream job – when the quality lab is in place, I’ll be baking breads and cookies, using instruments like the mixograph and near-infrared spectroscopy to help breeders make better-informed decisions about wheat quality,” Butler said. “In the meantime, I’m working alongside Zach, entering data, preparing seed for plant trials, working in the greenhouse … one of the best parts about working in agriculture is the diversity of the job.”

Group Limagrain was founded in France in 1942. The farmer-owned company has 7,000 employees and is the largest seed company in the European Union. Fort Collins, Colorado, serves as the North American headquarters of Limagrain Cereal Seeds, the newest subsidiary of the Limagrain Group. LCS also has regional research stations in Washington, Indiana, Minnesota and Kansas. Limagrain’s business focus is to create and market proprietary wheat seed varieties to sell to professional seed producers, who then market the seed varieties to their customers. For more information, contact Frank Curtis at 970-498-2200 or visit http://www.limagraincerealseeds.com.
